Dark Knight TrailorFor those of you who are new to the scene, here’s a quick run-down on The Dark Knight (and related movies) before discussing the film trailor. Dark Knight is the second installment of Christopher Nolan’s film series about the superhero Batman. It is the seventh major movie production of the superhero. The first movie (Batman: The Movie) was filmed in 1966 and was based on the TV series. The next four films (Batman, 1989; Batman Returns, 1992, Batman Forever, 1995, and Batman & Robin, 1997) were directed by Tim Burton (first two films) and Joel Schumacher (last two films). They were not based on the series. Batman was portrayed by Michael Keaton (Batman & Batman Returns), Val Kilmer (Batman Forever), and George Clooney (Batman & Robin). After eight years with no movie, Christopher Nolan revived the superhero and began a new film series unrelated to any of its five predecessors. He entitled his first release “Batman Begins”. In 2008, Nolan released a sequel called “The Dark Knight”. If you haven’t seen the movie, you ought to at least check out the trailer…it is incredible! It’s a stunning compilation of incredible special effects and skillful acting on all sides. The Joker was played by Heath Ledger, who passed away due to an accidental overdose shortly after production. There is a reason Ledger was considered by many to be one of the most talented rising stars on the scene. In this pinnacle performance, he was amazingly on target. He fully embraced the role from his voice to his posture. In the trailer, it shows him in custody playing the part of a madman bent on chaos to a tee. Christian Bale plays the part of Batman. He is a versatile actor who also gives a wonderful performance. The scene with him on his motorcycle will leave you hanging on for dear life! Other actors include Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman. The critically acclaimed production has received widespread recognition and praise since its release in July 2008. I haven’t seen it yet, but I plan to watch it soon. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t miss out on what has been heralded as one of the best films of the year. But don’t forget to watch the trailor before watching the film…it will give you a taste of the treat you are in for! |
